The future will be shaped by the children who inherit it…
Partnering with changemakers to reimagine education in India and South Africa, unlocking life-changing learning for every child.

A purposeful sunset
On 27 March 2026, we announced our decision to begin a planned, intentional sunset of the Maitri Trust, with final closure expected in April 2028.
Our Story
We believe that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to reduce poverty, improve health and wellbeing, and build stronger, more resilient communities. Working in partnership and collaboration with organisations who share our vision, we aim to transform primary education so that every child can learn, grow and thrive.

Our Approach
Placing children at the heart, we approach our grant-making with learner-level impact in mind, working supportively with our partners to ensure every child completes primary school able to read, write and calculate.
